Cub Scouts Pack 53 Holds Awards Ceremony
Cub Scouts Pack 53 hosted a monthly awards program at Fillmore School cafetorium. Webelo Den opened with a flag ceremony and Den 9 performed a comedy dance. Bill Gilstrap distributed awards while six new Cubs joined Den 3 and crossing into Troop 58 was noted for Arrow of Light recipient.

Status of Women meetings announced in Santa Barbara County
The Santa Barbara County Commission on the Status of Women will meet Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Santa Maria Public Library to discuss commissioners qualifications and follow-up from last month’s leadership workshop by Lois Phillips. They will make recommendations on the Affirmative Action Officer’s report and county hires and promotions. Lompoc speakers Martha Bray and Genevieve Sinclair address the Business and Professional Women’s dinner November 17 at El Cielito Restaurant, with Sinclair sharing details of the Lompoc Task Force “Sexism in Schools” program.
