The Auld Lang Syne business meeting hosts games at 7 30 p m in the Recreation Center 105 South C St with a new month chair and future plans. A new Sons of the American Revolution chapter is organized with William Wayne Peterson as secretary and Dr. Charles E Seger as president. A carnival day at La Mesa Elementary School 4110 Jupiter Vandenberg Village is set for Saturday November 3 from 10 a m to p m sponsored by La Mesa PTA. Dave Hoffman will headline at Pismo Beach City Hall Ballroom Saturday November 3 at 8 p m for Central Coast square dancers.

Robin Hale and Thomas Hansen wed in La Purisima ceremony

Miss Robin Marie Hale and Thomas Charles Hansen exchanged vows Oct. 20 at La Purisima Catholic Church in a late morning ceremony officiated by Father Maurice O Mahoney. The bride's gown featured antique white taffeta and Chantilly lace with seed pearls, while attendants wore pale yellow and blue. Guests numbered about 160 at a reception at the bride's parents home.

Cub Scouts auction cakes from October pack meeting

Cub Scout pack 167 members baked transportation and Indian themed cakes for judging by Ken Frank Willard Pritchard and Robert Wilson. Winners included David Mott James Erbe Kevin Dilworth and others with ribbons and an auction followed raising funds for the pack treasury.

Visiting Nurse Service Adds to Local Staff

Dorothy Nunn, R.N., joins the Visiting Nurse Service as a new local staff nurse based at Vandenberg AFB with husband Major John Nunn and children. She comes from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing Iowa City and previously served as a nursing consultant for Welfare Departments in Iowa and Nebraska.

WW I Auxiliary District Meeting Held in Santa Maria

Seventh district Ladies Auxiliary 3462 WW I Veterans met in Santa Maria with officers from Lompoc led by Mrs. R H Howell. Martha Beauchamp California Dept president spoke on the Miami Beach convention and urged more members and education on WWI history. A donation was voted for heart surgery research and upcoming meetings were announced. A Lompoc sewing group also met to prepare items for veterans hospitals.
