Inflation Sways As Leading Indicators Rise 1 3 Percent

Expensive Homes Inch Toward Pacific Plunge

Four cliffside homes in San Pedro face collapse as a 300 foot fissure widens at a rate of about half an inch per hour. Geologists link the crevasse to landslides and recent earthquakes amid heavy winter rains. Officials say the main crack is 2 to 3 feet wide and extend 100 feet deep, with no evacuation planned for the nearby six homes.
