Indians Propose Fund Priorities for Block Grant
Santa Ynez Indian Band members outlined top priorities for third year Community Development Block Grant funds during a meeting with County Housing Authority and County Administrator's Office representatives. A neighborhood facility on the reservation topped the list, followed by campground roadways, nature trails, children's recreation facilities, and restrooms. Mrs. Rosa Pace, tribal secretary, said cost estimates and funding availability will be evaluated, with further discussions planned. The group also reviewed campground rules as 17 campers registered, with 24 sites featuring tables, benches, barbecues, water and lighting.

A second annual outdoor auction at Solvang Festival Theater raised more than 9000 for the theater building fund under cloudy skies. Santa Ynez Valley Arts Assn. sponsored the event with Charles Hollister as auctioneer. top price went to Yasu Eguchi’s watercolor Remote Spring at 700. Proceeds aim to liquidate 16500 in bank notes and 25000 in personal notes.

Noise complaints over bird scare devices in Santa Ynez vineyards
County environmental health officials are reviewing complaints about bird scaring devices in vineyards and strawberry fields across the county. Farm Bureau editor Robert L.
