Jeannette Simpkins, senior at Lompoc High, co leads drill team and sings in concert choir and madrigals. She earned Block L, is on the yearbook staff, and in Quill and Scroll while planning college study in history and journalism. She volunteers with March of Dimes and enjoys tennis and sewing.

El Primero Band and Drill Team Review Set in Santa Monica
Sixty high schools including Lompoc High will send marching bands and precision drill teams to the seventh annual El Primero Band and Drill Team Review in Santa Monica on Saturday November 3 at 10 am. The parade along Ocean Avenue features over 10 000 students from 40 Southern California communities competing for trophies and scholarships. Judges from the Southern California School Band and Orchestra Association, led by head judge Ron Hoar, Director of the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Band, will assess musical and marching performances. Representatives of the Tournament of Roses Los Angeles Rams San Francisco 49ers and Magic Mountain will view the parade seeking the finest ensembles.

The Youth of California Association for the Retarded invites ages 15 to 25 to join as members.
