Bob Berends Receives Eagle Award in La Mesa
Bob Berends of Boy Scout Troop 67 was awarded the Eagle badge at ceremonies in La Mesa. He joined scouting in Cub program in 1964 and earned merit badges including art camping first aid and nature. He became assistant scoutmaster in July and attained Eagle just before his 18th birthday.

Trailer clubs weekend at Lake Cachuma in Lompoc
The Lompoc Travel Trailer Club hosted the Valley Caravaners for a weekend at Cachuma Lake drawing 29 units. Members mingled at a Saturday chicken barbecue with many named couples, enjoyed a biscuit breakfast, campfire sing out, and various activities. The next Loafers meetup is Nov 8 to 10 at Lake Lopez with plans for a Christmas party on Dec 13 hosted by the Chilsons.
