Thanksgiving weekend state park campgrounds fill up fast

Several State Park campgrounds are booked for the November 26 to 28 weekend with reservations reported by the Department of Parks and Recreation. Seacliff State Beach remains mostly full, Anza Borrego and Imperial Counties are fully booked for the weekend, and all trailer hookups are taken at Morro Bay, Pismo Beach, and San Clemente. Many other campsites remain available, and the department urges reservations but notes no weather guarantees.

Johns-Manville reports lower quarterly earnings drop

Johns-Manville Corporation announces third quarter 1970 sales of 146.1 million dollars and earnings of 8.18 million, down from 157.3 million and 11.14 million a year earlier due to low sales, strikes at Manville New Jersey and Pittsburg California plants, and higher raw materials costs. Nine month sales total 401.6 million. The firm cites inflationary pressures and continued program to drop low profit lines.
