Wise-Rizzoli wedding draws about 200 guests at Queens Angels

Ja nine Allison Wise and James Louis Rizzoli married at Queen of Angels Catholic Church last Saturday. Father Donal Mulcahy officiated. The bride, daughter of Myra Wise and the late Vernon Wise Jr, wore silk organza with lace and pearl, carried white baby roses, and was given in marriage by her uncle James Wise. The groom, son of Mario and the late family, was supported by best man Louie Rizzoli. A reception at the Elks Club followed, with pink and white decor, and the couple plans to reside at 716 C North F Street after a two week honeymoon to Lake Tahoe. All are Lompoc High School 1966 graduates. he works as a rancher on Sweeney Road.

Grange Harvest Dinner Plans Set For November First

A Grange Women’s Activity committee led by Mrs. Gene Friis announced the annual Harvest dinner for November 1. The meeting at the Starbuck home in Mesa Oaks approved reservations to be made by October 31 and noted enchilada sales and officer elections for 1970.

JAR Anniversary Observed by Captain Henry Sweetser Chapter DAR

Captain Henry Sweetser Chapter DAR marked its third anniversary at the October meeting hosted by Mrs. William LaCour. Mrs. Robert Wetzel spoke on the histories of NSDAR and the chapter, noting NSDAR’s 79th birthday in October 1969 and its 189000 members. NSDAR was founded October 11, 1890 by four pioneer women. The organization pursues historical educational and patriotic aims, with its National Headquarters Building in Washington.

UN work explained at meet United Nations Week

David Martin spoke at the United Nations Week and Day celebration in Lompoc describing the UN as a continuing forum whose funds mainly support economic and sociological programs. He noted small countries rely on UN contact and highlighted global cooperation solving social issues. The event, held at Lompoc Public Library, was hosted by AAUW and proclaimed United Nations Week by Mayor Robert McClure.

Lompoc Couple Appears on Newlywed Game on ABC

Mr and Mrs Charles Virgin of 817 D North F St Lompoc appeared on the Newlyweds Game on ABC Television. Married ten months they placed second and won luggage. The episode will be televised at 2 PM on October 31 over Channels 3 and 7.

Medallion Day At Village Country Club Winners Named

Tuesday marked Medallion Day for Village Country Club women with Pres Heflin claiming low net medalion honors and low putts. In first flight Norma Stillman led low gross while Heflin took low net. Genie Dufrene followed. Second flight saw Norma Stafell top low gross with Linda Pluss first and Wanda Pendley second. Third flight had Connie Piemme as low gross with Wanda Anderson and Harriet Adam sharing low net in a three way tie for Grace Anderson. Fourth flight Ann Lewis led low gross with Irma Henderson and Ruth Klitz tied for first and Elizabeth Gould second on lownet.

City to Sponsor Knitting Class at Recreation Dept
