Voter Registration Expected to Hit Record High

Food prices fall in September easing inflation hit
Retail food prices dropped 1.4 percent in September marking the first fall in over a year and helping the overall cost of living index rise 0.3 percent. Apparent suicide discovered near Lompoc on carbon monoxide death
William Charles Laubly, 44, of 216 South St., found dead in his car on a lonely road south of Lompoc. Sheriff’s officers listed the death as carbon monoxide poisoning from a garden hose connected to the exhaust. David Michael Barber of 439 South St. found the body about 3 p.m. and alerted a deputy. Funeral services were pending at McPeek Mortuary.
