Lompoc Dogs Take Top Honors At AKC Match
The Lompoc Valley Kennel Club held the fifth AKC sanctioned BOB Match at Ryan Park Memorial Park. Feinlyne's Quick Silver won Best in Match, and Licorice took High Scoring Obedience. About 300 dogs across 43 breeds competed from central and southern California with numerous group winners announced. Obedience class winners included a 196.0 novice score and a 197.2 graduate score among others.

Cache of weapons found near Drum Canyon east of Lompoc

Raul Solorio, 19, of 727 N. A St., charged with possession of marijuana and being drunk in public after deputies nabbed him at Cabrillo High School. Five girls aged 15 to 17 were charged with marijuana possession and narcotics use. two faced only the latter charge. All five were turned over to juvenile authorities.
