Paratroopers clash near border leave 29 NVA dead

South Viet Namese paratroopers with US artillery killed 29 North Vietnamese troops in a sharp clash three miles north of Pace Base near the Cambodia border. Seven government soldiers died and 20 were wounded as U.S. B52 bombers pounded bunkers.

Satellite in polar orbit studies Northern Lights phenomena

A Thor Agena launched satellite at Vandenberg AFB will operate in polar orbit for at least six months. Built for DoD by Lockheed, the 32 foot solar array powers 1500 watts and unfolds like a window shade.
