Waunlla Brown and relatives from Detroit Lompoc Chicago Seattle and Seattle again gather for a 14 year reunion spanning multiple cities. A surprise house painting by daughter and son in law honors the Detroit visit. Other travelers include Harlan Oivish in San Francisco Hal Holbrook show Delta fishing Fort Bragg Clear Lake Lake Berryessa. Lee Kyser and spouse return from Hawaii to Riverside and San Diego, including Sea World and Lion Safari.

Janet Begg's 130 pound sailfish capture gains prize trip

Janet Begg caught a 130 pound sailfish measuring 8 ft 7 in during a Mexican holiday. The catch won a Goodyear Tire contest awarding a seven day Acapulco trip on a charter flight and two deep sea fishing trips aboard a fiesta yacht cruise.

Engagement Told for Vicky Blankenship and Ronald Trammell

Mr and Mrs David Blankenship announce the engagement of their daughter Vicky to Ronald Trammell. Vicky is a June 1970 graduate of Lompoc High School and works at McDonald’s Hamburger. Ronald is a 1971 Lompoc High School graduate who plans to attend college in Texas. The wedding is set for February 14 1972.

Donovan Marley to Speak at CC Women Luncheon

Donovan Marley director of drama at Allan Hancock College Santa Maria will address the Chamber of Commerce Women Division Monday at a noon luncheon in the Valley Club. Marley formerly with Bantt School of Fine Arts Alberta UT Dallas State Fair Musicals and St Louis Municipal Opera helped found the Pacific Conservatory of the Performing Arts and assisted in designing Hancock's Thrust Stage. He will share theater and college drama experiences as Lompoc graduates participate in the Hancock theater productions. Olivia Cotsenmeyer conducts the meeting reporting on the California Women in Chambers of Commerce gathering in Oxnard. Norma Stillman urges clothing donations for La Morada Home rummage sale October 23 24 with pickup and free cleaning for Home garments. The Dylinas retire to Grants Pass Oregon after six years here. potluck hosted by several area members with 6 30 pm serving and guests and friends invited.

Columbus Day Dinner for Gugliemo Marconi Lodge of Sons of Italy

The Gugliemo Marconi Lodge of the Order of Sons of Italy celebrated Columbus Day with a dinner at Knights of Pythias Hall. Venerable Fred Valla chaired a prior meeting. Ottorino Bettiga attended from Santa Maria. Dinner proceeded with chairs Peter Rizzoli and Dante Pensa among others, as donations were made to the scholarship fund for the next convention in June in Las Vegas. The next local meeting is scheduled for November 13 at Knights of Columbus Hall.
