A Sunday reception honored Mr and Mrs Carl Willoby on their golden wedding anniversary at the Methodist Church Fireside Room from 2 to 5 pm. The couple, longtime Lompoc residents, wed Oct 11 1922 in Findlay Ohio.
Lompoc figures prominently with Stella Reed serving a second term as Central Area vice president and Helen Smith as area director. The corporation’s principal office is in Lompoc with Chris Cass handling official paperwork and mailing through City Secretarial Service.
Letters recount juror experiences from Georgia Oklahoma Michigan and California. Tales include a hung jury due to a married defendant and a romantic interference a Detroit juror praising court organization and fair deliberations and a Lompoc California convention with civic leaders and a new CWCC president.
Ann Gibson was enrolled as a new member of Lompoe Chapter 1413 Women of the Moose. Sponsor Betty Petta welcomed her into the circle, with Marjie Munoz in charge and Mary Jannsen winning the door prize. Plans announced for the Christmas in October bazaar on Saturday Oct 28 at Moose Home 921 West Laurel Ave.

The Camp Fire Council conducts a 15 hour leaders training course for Blue Bird and Camp Fire leaders chaired by Mrs. Rodman Hamer. Sessions run Tuesdays 9 AM to 12 noon at First Presbyterian Church 1600 Berkeley Drive with trainers and new leaders listed. A Horizon Club advisors workshop is planned for Oct 24 as Horizon Club membership grows in Lompoc Council. Call 5-1030 to join.
Theresa M Riola and Gerald Elery Coleman announce their engagement and plan a December 30 wedding at La Purisima Catholic Church. Miss Riola, a 1971 St Joseph HS graduate now at Allan Hancock College, is the daughter of Mr and Mrs Michael Riola of Seattle formerly Santa Maria. The groom is the son of Mr and Mrs Elery Coleman of 605 N X St. he attended Lompoc High School, served three years in the Army, works for Boeing at Vandenberg AFB, and also attends Allan Hancock College.
Annual installation of officers by Credit Women of Lompoc Valley is slated for Saturday at the Royal Coach Restaurant. Social hour at 6 30 p m followed by dinner and installation by Mrs James Case of Port Hueneme. A new member initiation and entertainment by Mark Riegal are planned. Public invited with reservations to Mrs R McLaughlin by Friday.
