Lompoc trounced Arroyo Grande 60-0 at Arroyo Grande as senior Jim Carter scored three touchdowns. The halftime drive featured a 60 yard march capped by a 45 yard connection from junior QB Rolly Garife to senior John Fridrich before Nelson Carter finished a short plunge.

West Paces Lakers Rally Past Warriors in Exhibition

Jerry West scored 23 points through three quarters to lift the Los Angeles Lakers to a 112-105 win over the San Francisco Warriors in the Golden Gate Classic. Los Angeles used an 11-4 run before halftime and an 80-0 start to the third period to seize control as Mel Counts added 10 and Willie McCarter 17. Don Kojis led the Suns with 31 in the opener as San Diego edged Phoenix 129-127. A predawn West Los Angeles raid arrested nine people including former Olympic swimmer Zachary Zorn and ex UCLA players Victor Lepisto and Mark Gustafson on marijuana charges.
