Festival Queens to Receive Pins at Lompoc Event

Festival queens Kay Wishard and Dawn Ebbert will receive crown pins from the Lompoc Chamber of Commerce Women’s Division. They will attend the October luncheon at Valley Club as honor guests and the division outlines plans for 1970 including queen’s contest, by laws, budget, and a community improvement program with Flower City as a slogan for Lompoc.

Clowns Attend Xi Omicron Tau Beta Sigma Phi Event

Members and husbands will attend a Beta Sigma Phi Xi Omicron Tau circus carousel themed party hosted by Mrs. Eugene Frankhouser in Lompoc to celebrate the chapter. Decorations will be crafted at a paint workshop and the Valentine queen will be crowned at the February ball.

New Cubmaster Introduced At Cub Pack 53 Ceremony

Richard Hawkins was welcomed as new Cubmaster of Pack 53 with Ray Benesh as Webelos leader. Den 2 staged a skit Most Fascinating Creatures while Webelos and Bear recipients received pins and books. Ed Bartholomew advanced to Boy Scout, and awards including sustaining and service pins were announced. A paper drive was planned and newspapers collected.

Frances Williams to be Bride After Shower Honors

Frances Williams, bride-elect of Sherman Willdon, was honored at two pre nuptial showers. The first at Mrs. Everett Luxton’s home featured yellow and white decor, a daisies centerpiece, and a white cake with bride and groom figures. The second shower at Mrs. Bruce Mills’ Vandenberg AFB home continued the yellow and white theme with a bride doll centerpiece and prizes awarded to Mrs. Duane Borden and Mrs. Robert Parker.

Golden wedding toast marks 50 years for Park Haney family

A gold lined wedding cup was used for the Parks fiftieth anniversary toast. Guests included Col and Mrs Haney and Michele Haney with a three way ring box exchange revealing the original wedding ring. A story of long friendship to Shanghai China and Kaiserslautern Germany is noted along with gifts from local friends. Arts and crafts will headline a hobby show at Federal Correctional Institution Ladies Auxiliary Monday night.
