Lompoc Valley Chess Club enters the new Central Coast Chess League with first match set for Oct 16 at 7 p.m. in the Community Building 217 W. Maple Ave against Santa Maria. Board urges funding for better water quality improvements
The Board of Supervisors voted to urge state and federal lawmakers to create funding to help local districts upgrade water quality. Buellton Community Services District representative Wayne Barberick noted no funds exist for water quality upgrades, only for sewage plants. The Summerland district relies on Cachuma Project water via Tecolote Tunnels and has no wells.
