Mr. and Mrs. Rick Beitler, Lompoc High faculty, rise to local fame after starring on Newlywed Game filmed September 18 and airing October 10. He, a Dramatic Literature teacher and assistant football coach, and she, a physical education instructor and activity sponsor, met at the University of Albuquerque and moved to Lompoc after vows in May.

Leaders attend ISC meeting in San Luis Obispo
Three members of the Lompoc Valley student government attended the Inter-school Council meeting in San Luis Obispo. Charlie Jackson of Lompoc High served as ASB president, Mike Reeser represented Cabrillo, and Margo Crummy was ISC treasurer. The group discussed a district newspaper Scrub to publish monthly and hosting the fall ISC leadership conference. Cabrillo previously hosted a similar meeting, and the idea of a student representative on the school board was proposed for consideration.

Lompoc Majorettes to Perform in Los Angeles
Lompoc high school majorettes will perform at the Rams versus Chargers game in Los Angeles by special invitation from the Hibbards Clinic. They trained since August 8 and designed a unique routine with new uniforms created by the students. Chaperones include Mr. and Mrs. Manseau and Mr. and Mrs. Lowe.
