Norma Stillman Installed As Lompoc Women’s Division President

Norma Stillman Mrs Kenneth Stillman was installed as president of the Women’s Division of the Lompoc Valley Chamber of Commerce at a Royal Coach banquet. She plans a Be Alive in 75 theme and a community center project. New officers Shirley Lilley Louisa Van Ausdal and Florence Holley were announced, with Rev Arthur Batty giving the invocation and Stella Reed pledging allegiance.

Deputy marshal honored guest at NDGW meeting

Seniors of Lompoc to hear nominating slate and updates

Lompoc Senior Citizens meet Monday October 7 to hear the nominating committee present a slate of officers for the coming year and accept floor nominations. Jack Anderson and a representative of the Lompoc Valley Association for Retarded Citizens will speak. Gay Nineties Theme Fete Planned by Lompoc Meals on Wheels

The Meals on Wheels group in Lompoc hosts a Gay Nineties benefit dance at the Veterans Memorial building from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. There will be canncan dancers, a barbershop quartet, and Rockin Squares square dancing. Tickets are $2.50 at the door or from members. Funds support hot meals for area seniors served by Lompoc District hospital and Tradewinds restaurant. October is Meals on Wheels month per Mayor Stevens.

Lompoc Writers Club Meets to Discuss Contest and News

The Lompoc Creative Writers Club gathers Monday at 1 30 p.m. at Community Hospitality House to talk about the first creative writing contest due November 1, elections, reference books, markets, limericks, and the query letter. Judges include Robert Johnston Allan Hancock College and Mrs James Arnestad Lompoc High School. The YMCA advertises two programs for women a dance program with ballet tap and jazz taught by Bonnie Hudson and a yoga fitness class led by Olga Quinones starting Oct 15. Two six week Tuesday sessions run 10 11 a m and 7 30 8 30 p m. Call for details.

The Lompoc Alpha Club invites members to a Friday tea from 2 to 4 p.m. at 704 E Ocean Ave Alpha Clubhouse with a centennial themed display.
