Bureau supervisor meet on land uses in Third District

County Farm Bureau representatives met Friday with Third District Supervisor Daniel G. Grant to urge a well rounded committee to study open coastal areas from western Goleta Valley to Gaviota. Grant agreed the coastal area is undergoing change as landowners fear rising assessments from nonagricultural uses while not in an agricultural preserve.

American Cancer Society Fashion Show Plans Readied

Final plans for the second annual American Cancer Society Fashion Show at the Lion’s Inn in Lompoc were announced. About 300 attendees are expected to see professional models and local dignitaries, with a 6 p.m. cocktail hour, 6:30 p.m. show, and 8 p.m. dinner. Tickets are $6 and reservations called into the Lompoc ACS. A surprise performance by Patti Orr will climax the event. Live organ music and narration complete the program.

Lompoc City Council Public Hearing on Red Star Pantry CU Permit

The Lompoc City Council will hold a public hearing at City Hall on December 1, 1970 at 7:30 p.m. to consider the Planning Commission recommendation regarding the Red Star pantry Conditional Use Permit for an annexed warehouse on A Street Avenue. Latshaw elected Area 5 CCCSGA president at Allan Hancock College

David Latshaw ASB president of Allan Hancock College was elected president of the Area 5 Conference of the California Community College Student Government Association. He will take office November 25 at the State Convention in Fresno and will represent about 50 000 students on the State Executive Board. Area 5 includes nine colleges. Latshaw is 23 and an Air Force veteran.
