Honey appeal case looms over two month hearing

Civilian training plan outlined for airmen at Lompoc
S M Sgt Henry T Davis described Air Force Operation Transition to prepare 10 percent of separating airmen for civilian work. The plan trains 80 retiring airmen from VAFB each month with on base and local schooling. Trainees would be chosen by the Air Force and four hours daily five days weekly for six months. Businesses may interview and hire. no obligation to employ after service. Davis noted no labor union protests and stressed trainees are extra staff, not replacements.
