Santa Ynez Valley density fight ends in denial
Santa Ynez Valley residents clashed with a landowner over a proposed increase in density on a 48 acre Solvang area property at Alamo Pintado and Old Mission. The County Planning Commission denied the rezoning request from 20-R-1 to DR 3-5 and rejected the density increase, suggesting DR-2 could be considered only if within General Plan limits. James Bartlett urged commissioners to reject density hikes unless in the public interest.
