The Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors approved a second six month extension for Insignis Inc to build a golf course clubhouse and related recreation on the former Duff Ranch near Solvang. The decision followed a tied planning commission vote and amid sewage concerns. The property has since sold to Cook Capital Corp of Memphis. Mountain brush fire on Figueroa Mountain prompts quick response
Fire of undetermined origin scorched about three acres of brushland on Figueroa Mountain north of Los Olivos this morning. U.S. Forest crews aided by county firefighters contained it with no injuries and no structures threatened. The blaze started roughly a half to three-quarters of a mile east of the Figueroa Mountain Fire Suppression Station.
