Palmer vows to keep fight for district's state government
Kenneth A. Palmer of Santa Barbara after a narrow defeat in the 36th Assembly District election says he will carry on the campaign philosophy to bring state government closer to the people. He lost to Republican Don MacGillivray by 1,569 votes, 49.1 percent. He pledge to review precinct results and may run again in 1972 but will not abandon the fight for meaningful representation for about 44,785 supporters.

Fire fighters pact approved at Vandenberg AFB
Officials at Vandenberg AFB signed a labor contract with Local F-116 of the IAFF under Executive Order 11497. The agreement includes a grievance procedure and bi monthly meetings between the fire chief and union leaders. Colonel Robert J. Ray signed for base command. Fred Schillreff led the union.
