Police report finding an illegal weapon described as a Chuck-bus in the car of Donald Albert Knoll 19 of 117 W Locust Ave Saturday night. Knoll booked in Lompoc Jail bail set at 500. Also, David Morgan Drum 35 of Los Alamos faces DUI action after arrest on East Ocean Ave Saturday night, bail 750. Wayne Allen Yurek 21 of 512 N Lupine St jailed for marijuana sale bail 5000. Several thefts burglary losses reported including 267 dollars in Olga M French home and 274 damage at Ray J’s Frozen Novelties.

Jose Becerra 75 died Saturday at Lompoc District Hospital with services pending at Starbuck Mortuary. Frank F. Chambers 71 dies Wednesday at 610 E Pine Ave will have services Tuesday at 10 AM at Starbuck Mortuary Chapel with interment at Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery. He is survived by wife Katherine and daughter Theresa Snitzler among others. He was a retired Southern Pacific Railroad engineer and member of Teamsters Local 381. Friends may call tonight 6 to 8 and tomorrow 2 to 8 PM.

Navarro case delays as jury deliberates on bribery charge

A Navarro Superior Court jury of seven women and five men failed to reach a verdict by 4 30 p m Friday in the bribery solicitation case against suspended county administrative aide Raul Navarro. Under Judge John A Westwick they adjourned to resume at 10 a m today in the County Courthouse jury room. They received the case at 10 50 a m and after lunch requested rereading of instructions.
