Silvestre Abad 31 known as Sofronio Falconi surrendered to Philippine Constabulary near Zam- bales Mountain 75 miles north west of Manila. He held Susan Butler 14, her Uncle Stewart Raab, and reporter Rutherford Batug as hostages after stealing from Charles Butler. He possessed 592 dollars of a 2500 ransom fund. four accomplices fled. U S Navy Intruder Engaged by North Vietnamese SAMs

Muskie calls for multi billion clean water plan

County Supervisors consider lead free gasoline ordinance

The Board may follow Orange and Riverside counties in banning lead in gasoline sold countywide. At the request of First District Supervisor George H. Clyde the county counsel office is to draft the ordinance with Air Pollution Control District input. A public hearing may be held once ready to hear all sides.
