Dan Lanza was sworn in as California highway patrol commissioner promising strict enforcement of the 55 mph limit. He replaces Walter Pudinski who resigned to return to field duties in San Bernardino County. Brown fails first California bar exam then passes on second attempt
Edmund G. Brown Jr failed the 1964 California bar exam spending three months studying in the governor's mansion before passing on the second try. He retrained with Gus Skarakis in a three week crash program and, after months, was admitted June 14, 1965. Brown later became governor and joined Tuttle and Taylor in Los Angeles.
