Mean Halloween tricks reported by city police
A small boy received an apple with a razor blade while trick or treating. Lt Ernest Bouslaugh was burned on the forehead by a military fire bomb dropped from a roof during a routine patrol. Several incidents followed including egg and tomato throws, smashed pumpkins, paint on cars and a smoke bomb on a porch. No injuries reported beyond minor burns.

Marine hijacker captured near Rome after cross continent flight

Raffaele Minichiello, 20, AWOL from the U S Marine Corps, hijacked a Trans World Airlines jet from California to Rome, stopping in Denver New York Bangor Maine Shannon Ireland before landing near Rome. Lompoc Dam project flood capacity revised upward
Flood control capacity of the proposed Lompoc Dam and Reservoir is being raised from 125 000 acre feet after a feasibility study update by Phil Macias regional chief of the U S Bureau of Reclamation. Two Men Jailed On Multiple Charges In Lompoc
Lompoc police arrested Jose Luciano Loy and Gary L. McDaniel on charges including car theft assault with a deadly weapon battery and burglary. Bail set at 9350 each. An additional arrest Eloy Loy 18 of Wilmington for car theft with bail 3125. Police say the incidents occurred in the east lot of Lompoc High School and involved a gun threat to a 17 year old and a stereo theft from another 17 year old’s car.
