Danish flag artist John St John florals in Solvang scene
St John the Santa Ynez Valley painter known for abstract realism has three new three by four foot flags along the ramp to the Old Mill Gallery. The flags feature coats of arms of Rudkobing Korsor and Nekso designed by his sister. He studied under GI Bill and has murals in Coral Gables and Kentucky. He moved to Solvang 21 months ago from Santa Barbara after residencies in Hawaii and Puerto Rico.

County officials wary of Santa Barbara fund prospects
County officials express gloom over the chances of approving many projects from a new four million dollar Congressional appropriation to spur a Federal public works program.
