County salary boosts eyed may cost up to 79000 dollars
County Administrative Officer Raymond D. Johnson proposed across the board raises ranging from 2 to 20 percent for 2,187 employees except 13, with July 1 effective date and a total initial cost of about 790,000 dollars. A potential second increase next January could lift the 1969 70 salary budget by another 395,000 dollars, with overtime and additional positions possibly pushing total payroll around 1.5 million dollars in the coming year. The Board of Supervisors will study the plan for a week before action, with one member absent while in Washington.
