Flagpole ceremony marks bicentennial tribute at Santa Ynez museum
A flagpole dedication Thursday at 7 45 p m in the Santa Ynez Valley Historical Society Museum courtyard honors the community and 200 years of freedom. Two flags will fly the Bennington banner donated by the Murphy family and an American flag from the Santa Ynez Improvement Association. Contributions funded by the Santa Ynez Valley Elks cover the rest. The event features a pledge led by Valley 4 H Clubs a 21 gun salute by Santa Ynez Valley American Legion Post No 160 and refreshments with museum tours to follow including the Carriage House and Jeannette Lyons Room.
