Lompoc Teachers Submit 60 Page Contract Plan to Board

The Lompoc Education Association presents a 60 page proposal to Lompoc Unified School District seeking salary raises tied to cost of living, enhanced fringe benefits, grievance reforms, leaves, class size caps, extended specialist time, transfers and layoff procedures, and new evaluation and personnel rules. The district plans to review the plan for the May 24 meeting and begin formal negotiations toward a binding agreement.

Lompoc City Council Clears Session in 26 Minutes

The Lompoc City Council met a bare quorum of three to approve a quick agenda in about 26 minutes. They vacated part of O Street, changed meeting venues, and moved a College Park site from Fire Zone 1 to 3. Personal income up 0.7 percent in April

The Commerce Department reports April personal income rose 0.7 percent at an annual rate to 149 trillion dollars, driven by wages and salaries, with March and February earlier gains cited as unusually strong.
