Lompoc considering long term lease for Rainbow Plaza housing
County supervisors were briefed on a possible long term lease of 4.57 acres of county land to the Housing Authority for Rainbow Plaza apartments for emotionally handicapped adults. The site, west of Pine Street near the McDonald’s, would be developed if feasible with financing from the State Housing Finance Agency.

William L Scheffey 55 died this morning at his home 321 West North Ave. Funeral services are pending at Starbuck Mortuary. Paul S Geiger 77 of 1545 Mountain View Dr Solvang died Saturday at Santa Barbara Hospital after a lengthy illness. He worked 35 years with Ohio Oil Co western division and moved to Solvang eight years ago from Los Angeles. Born Oct 2 1898 in Philadelphia he spent 53 years in California. He was a Petroleum Pioneers member and WWI Canadian Army veteran. Survived by wife Lora two sons Paul Pasadena and Peter Geiger Fairfax VA a brother John San Diego a sister Mary Elizabeth Helper San Mateo and seven grandchildren. Funeral Wednesday 11 am Paaske Santa Ynez Valley Chapel Rev Gary W Sitton officiating. Private interment Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation Paaske Chapel Tuesday 3 to 8 pm.
