Steam autos for California Assembly to debut May 16
Two steam powered automobiles developed for the California Assembly will be delivered to Sacramento on May 16 as part of an 18 month $2.8 million project to create low pollution vehicles. A weekend of four small plane crashes left ten dead and three injured. Detroit judge John R. Murphy was among the dead in Freeland Michigan as four men perished when their single engine plane disintegrated in flight. Coast commissions urged to gain inland project power
A UPI report from Sacramento states coastal regulatory agencies should be allowed to reject inland dams water diversions and mining projects in addition to managing coastside lands. The North Coast Regional Commission says such authority could form part of a statewide coastal plan as commissions expire in 1976. The report also backs continued timber harvesting with safeguards and tighter controls to protect habitats and streams.
