In sworn testimony made public, Hugh W. Sloan Jr. testified he erased original records of 1 to 2 million dollars in cash contributions on orders from Maurice H. Stans. Depositions by Stans and other Finance Committee staff were filed in U.S. District Court, part of Common Cause's suit to identify Nixon campaign contributors before the 1972 disclosure law took effect.

Insignis hearing eyed for May 28 on rezoning plan
The Santa Ynez Valley board of supervisors may set a May 28 public hearing on the Planning Commission recommendation to rezone the Insignis Inc. 121 acre north portion of the large residential recreation community. The tentative map for the lower agri culturally zoned portion with five acre homesites may be reviewed then. The Planning Commission narrowly approved the tentative map with conditions allowing agricultural use for parcels intruding into a golf course easement.
