Ceremonies honor Air Force retirees
A retirement ceremony yesterday marked the end of Air Force careers for four Van denberg sergeants. Retirees were CM Sgt Bernard E. McCreedy S.M.Sgt William P. Czerwinski and TSgt Harold M. White of the 4392nd Aerospace Support Group and TSgt Edgar R. Waybright of the 4392nd Supply Squadron. An explosion at nearby tanks followed by a second blast injured several children. Truck driver Myron Chase aged 47 of Long Beach was killed. The refinery became a melted, tangled site as fire foam cooled the area.

Chief Ronald Boggs announced kickoff dates April 1 and April 7 with 6 000 mailed envelopes and ongoing volunteer recruitment.
