Don Thompson, once a Corporal in 1950 at Camp Cooke with the 40th Infantry Division, returns as a civilian at Vandenberg Air Force Base. Now a camera tracking mount operator with the 1369th Photographic Squadron, he recalls tanks and barracks long gone, joins Edwards Air Force Base past, and notes the area’s shift from tank grounds to missile silos while sharing memories of Terrible Termite and Korea. He lives in Lompoc with wife Annalu and four children.
