Speaker outlines student aid needs for Allan Hancock College
Robert Penney the financial aids adviser at Allan Hancock College was guest speaker for the Lompoc Quota Club this week. He urged local students to seek job recommendations and noted many Lom poc students commute by bus and must rely on part time work within the community. He called for a coordinating agency to handle student applications for future funding and for a possible scholarship association. He highlighted unused financial aids grants and scholarships and the need for a community agency to manage them. Guests included Mrs. Ernest White, Mrs. Michael Renault and Mrs. Karl Braun. Plans were made for the club’s annual progressive dinner on Saturday April 18 with invitations to be issued April 8 at the Lompoc Valley Club.
