County Upgrades Landscape Post To Architect Role In County
The county board elevates the landscape planning position to county landscape architect with a monthly pay range of 1071 to 1303 dollars, a roughly 122 percent boost. The vacancy followed Ray Orton’s resignation, with former occupant Henry Bauernschmidt having retired. Orton may return, as he was valued and the upgrade ensures landscape plans are not delegated to non-architects. The board also set budget talks for Ventucopa refuse disposal, considered a private operator at 250 monthly, sent five sheriff officers to FBI snipers course, and delayed state mental hospital closures to mid 1973. A public hearing was set for April 10 on Garey Bradley Tract zoning, and Helen Otero joined the Mental Health Advisory Board, with McDougall and Watson reappointed to related authorities.
