A general obligation bond of 500000 would fund a new Maple Avenue fire station with 13500 square feet. Bond repayment would come from a 12 cent levy on assessed value, needing two thirds citizen approval.
The proposal envisions placing training boxes in commercial, industrial and high hazard zones near night and weekend hours. The southeast corner of the Corporation Yard would host a full training facility with a drill tower, a burns building, and breathing apparatus under smoke conditions to train handling pumps and hoses.
