Curtain Time Set for Jr Class Play at Lompoc High

The Junior Class of Lompoc High sets March 21 matinee and March 22 23 evenings for a three act comedy Buy Jupiter adapted from Jumping Jupiter by Ernestine Gilbreth Carey. California Library Week Observed At Lompoc Library

Governor Knight proclaims March 11 to 17 as California Library Week with the theme Everything from A to Z. Lompoc library displays special exhibits of new books for children and adults. Librarian Mrs. R. M. White notes strong interest and says books not in the library will be obtained on request.

Booster Club Backs Lompoc School Bond Drive

The Lompoc Booster Club pledges 75 dollars to the Citizen School Election Committee for the upcoming school bond election. Club president Ted R. Holden notes the group’s long history of supporting the high school athletic program and facilities.

Noweton Group Names Officers

Suzanne Lemnes presided at a Monday meeting of the Noweton Campfire Group at Marian Dennis’s home. Officers elected were Virginia Anliker president, Patty Hearne vice president, Linda Jansson secretary, and Karen Warner telephone secretary. Headbands for Council Fires will be made at the next meeting March 19 at Karen Warner’s home.

Vaqueros elect two new members for Lompoc district

Bill Laranjo and Virgil Phelps have been elected new members of the Lompoc district of Vaqueros de los Ranchos. The organization gathers ranchers and horsemen from Northern Santa Barbara and Southern San Luis Obispo counties and stages an annual four day trek on May 17 21 at the Tract A ranch in the San Julian area.

Wataki Group Plans Hike At Meeting

Kathy Holt president of the Wataki Campfire group called the Thursday meeting to order at 3 30 p m in the home of Vonda Christian. Members drafted a sponsor thank you letter and planned a near term hike. Apple cider and cookies were served by Vonda Christian and Patty Silva with next gathering set for the Recreation Center.

Miguelito Chapter Salutes Irish Stated Meeting

The Stated Meeting of Miguelito Chapter O E S was led by Worthy Matron Alice Ramos and Worthy Patron Robert Chilson at the Odd Fellows Hall. An informal St Patrick’s Day party followed with singing, piano accompaniment by Cora McCall, and Neva Reynolds' request piece The Kerry Dancers.
