Orientation slated at Vandenberg for Air Force wives

The Personal Affairs Orientation course for Air Force wives will be held at the Missile View Community Center on Wednesday March 11 from 8 30 a m to 2 10 p m. Sponsored by Family Services the one day program informs wives of rights benefits and base mission details with speakers from legal office personal affairs hospital commissary base exchange chaplain housing transportation Red Cross and Family Services. Attendees receive a certificate of training and a free lunch with coffee and donuts during breaks. Free nursery care is provided reservations are requested via the base nursery at 866 3237.

Four 4-H demonstrations highlight Mission Viejo meeting

The Mission Viejo 4-H Club held a Monday night event at Veterans Memorial Hall with three demonstrations. Christine Tykeson showed dairy products and their role in daily meals using cottage cheese and sour cream, plus pancakes as a basic food group example. Cindy Tykeson demonstrated a tuna salad submarine, Deanne Messerole and Valerie Tykeson assisted with a balanced breakfast including citrus fruits. Judging is set for Saturday at Santa Barbara Co demonstration day in Santa Ynez High School. Members voted to donate a tree for city beautification. A foods fair is planned for April 4 and a Hig-Hers meeting is scheduled for March 12 at 4145 S G St.
