Penney's burglary solved by police recovered goods

Police recovered more than $2,000 in merchandise stolen in the J C Penney burglary at 701 North H Street and arrested an adult and three juveniles. Jesse Correa, 20, of 431 North J Street faced possession charges. Juveniles aged 15 to 16 were turned to juvenile authorities. Items recovered include stereo equipment and 30 shirts and 30 men s slacks. Some gear valued at $250 matched a February burglary on 13742 South K Street.

Young man found dead at More Mesa beach

The Sheriff’s Department seeks identification of a young man whose body washed ashore in the More Mesa area. He is about 5'9", 155 to 160 pounds, with shoulder length light brown hair, in the water roughly 12 hours. Investigators pursue a possible link to an abandoned boat off Carpinteria Beach.
