FFA chapter wins trophies at San Luis Obispo field day
Santa Ynez Valley High School FFA members won first place for land and horse teams at the San Luis Obispo sectional field day. Land team members include David Dascomb and Jeremy Kaslow who were top individuals, with Kaslow also winning the Lions Club student speakers contest at Buellton. Kaslow will compete in a zone contest in Santa Maria on March 15 and later at a regional in Pea Soup Andersen's.

The county board of education will hear two proposals from Superintendent Lorenzo Dall Armi at 2 p.m. Thursday in Santa Barbara. One seeks 150000 for Goleta Union bilingual programs and the other 100000 in federal early childhood funds for handicapped programs. Buellton district approves mobile transmitter and receiver installation and new plantings near district offices. Santa Ynez district schedules a special meeting to discuss a joint powers agreement with Solvang for wastewater project steps and rights of way.
