Vets funding bill OK'd expands benefits to veterans
The House passed emergency legislation funding two veterans programs through the end of the fiscal year. It extends education benefits for 285,000 veterans in training, increases disability payments for 2.2 million veterans and 375,000 widows and dependents, and authorizes funding to place benefits counselors on college campuses. Congressman Robert J. Lagomarsino said the bill prevents lapses and helps veterans access checks.
