Four VAFB Crew Rescued After Copter Crash Off Gaviota
Four Air Force Rescue crewmen from Vandenberg based Detachment Eight were rescued after their helicopter crashed about three miles southeast of Gaviota while aiding Coast Guard in retrieving a boat adrift from Gaviota Pier. They were in good condition at the base hospital. A board of officers will investigate the mishap.

Fifteen Home Use Permits May Be Revoked In Lompoc

Laurie Morrow Crowned 1974 Flower Festival Queen
Laurie Morrow, 18, Cabrillo High School graduate, was chosen queen of the 22nd Flower Festival before a sell-out Veteran's Memorial Building crowd. First runner-up was Karen Duggan and second runner-up Teresa Garcia. Eight contestants competed. Laurie performed a two phase talent act and answered a Watergate question. The event, sponsored by local clubs, sold all 500 tickets.
