Finley and Kuhn clash over baseball sales policy
Richman argues that commissioner Bowie Kuhn acted inconsistently by blocking Joe Rudi Rollie Fingers and Vida Blue deals while allowing other high profile transfers. He cites Hunter Messersmith and Epstein Knowles as contrasting cases and questions a double standard in baseballs best interest doctrine. Tom Yawkey is noted as agreeing with Finley in this Lompoc Record piece dated Tuesday June 22 1976.
