Budget deal revives ALRB amid veto fears
California legislative conferees approved a $12.85 billion state budget that restores the Agricultural Labor Relations Board. The plan, $122 million above Brown’s request, ends a six month stalemate and faces floor votes before reaching the governor who can veto items but not add. The committee also backed a separate pay plan funding a $168 million raise, yet blocked Brown’s flat $70 monthly increase for most state workers.
