Lompoc Summer Event With Music Rides and Mixed Doubles
Mixed drinks will be served in the saloon area as folk singer David Covington performs. About 500 people are expected at the annual event with 100 ballroom tables and $3.50 tickets at the door. The Lompoc Valley Riders hold their seventh mixed doubles tennis at Lompoc Senior High School and Ryan Park, with singles June 28 29 and doubles starting 8 a.m. Tomorrow and Sunday. New bicycle races begin at 10 a.m. at Ryan Park, sponsored by Winston's Valley Pedaler, including a 19 mile speed race to Surf and timed races.

Giancana, CIA-linked crime boss, found executed in Oak Park
Sam Momo Giancana, 65, once Chicago crime syndicate chief tied to a CIA plot against Fidel Castro, was shot to death in his Oak Park home.
