College bargaining bill alive in Assembly vote
AB1091 by Assemblyman Howard Berman cleared the Ways and Means Committee on an 11-7 vote and would grant collective bargaining rights to employees of the University of California and the state university and college systems. Kindergarten through junior college workers already have bargaining rights.
