One Father's Choice Sermon At First Presbyterian Church

The sermon One Father's Choice will be given at 9:30 a.m. by Rev. Kenneth R. Boyd at First Presbyterian Church located at 1600 Berkeley Drive. The summer choir directed by Gene Gumple provides musical leadership and church school runs parallel for children from nursery to sixth grade with infant care during worship.

Calvary Baptist holds large Vacation Bible School week

Calvary Baptist Church reports over 200 enrolled in the first week of Vacation Bible School with 45 staff members. VBS runs daily 9 to 11:30 a.m. for kindergartners through sixth graders, and Pastor Wallis Turner will speak at Calvary Sunday morning and evening.

Valley Chapel Hosts Rev. David King And Music Night

Valley Chapel schedules worship with Rev. David King of Santa Barbara Melodyland Christian Center for 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. services. Bread of Life from Santa Barbara to sing at 7:30 p.m. replacing the regular meeting, with Valley Chapel musicians joining in. The week includes Bill Nelson continuing a Gifts of the Holy Spirit series at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday Bible study, 7:30 p.m. Tuesday night study, youth meeting at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, and a Saturday 7:30 p.m. prayer meeting.

Southern Baptists mark Fathers Day at First Church

The 11 a.m. service features a sermon by Dr. W. B. Timberlake titled A Father Is More Than A Male Parent. Fathers are honored as newest, most experienced, and most prolific in attendance. A bus ministry to Lompoc aids Bible study and worship. Herb Blackmon leads the adult choir with My Jesus I Love Thee.

Peace Church Vacation Bible School Planned for June 18 22

Peace Lutheran Church announces a week long Vacation Church School for members and friends from June 18 to 22, 9 am to 12 noon. Open to children aged three through sixth grade with no fee, a free will offering will be collected. Theme is In the Beginning God. Fathers Day worship at 10 30 am features the Holy Trinity festival and a sermon titled Big Daddy the Kid and the Spook by Rev. David Miller. The Lutheran Church Women host their annual June luncheon Tuesday at 12 30 pm at Ann Miller 421 South Hawthorne with a duck salad luncheon.

John Berg sermon marks Fathers Day at First Baptist

The First Baptist Church at 220 West Cypress Ave holds an 11 o'clock Fathers Day service with Rev. Earl R. Berg preaching God’s Fathers as the message. At 7 p.m. the Wedding Ring series continues with At The Altar focusing on marriage realities and the pastor recalling weddings from his 40 years in ministry. St. Mary's Episcopal Church at 209 East Central Ave will administer Holy Communion and baptism during the 10 a.m. service this Sunday. The second service runs at 8 and 10 a.m. Church School meets at 10 a.m. Midweek Holy Communion is at 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays and 9 a.m. Thursdays with hands laid on afterward.
